Edition Richmond, Toronto Urban Townhomes Presentation CentreEdition Richmond, Toronto Urban Townhomes Presentation CentreEdition Richmond, Toronto Urban Townhomes Presentation Centre is an innovative 255-square-meter presentation space that exemplifies adaptive reuse in contemporary architectural design, transforming a former auto repair shop into a sophisticated exhibition venue. The presentation centre, which garnered a Golden A' Design Award in Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design, masterfully preserves the industrial heritage of its original structure while creating an ethereal, gallery-like atmosphere through comprehensive whitewashing of surfaces and architectural elements. The design concept ingeniously integrates the building's automotive past with its new residential purpose, featuring artistically repurposed car parts and a whitewashed 1969 Austin America as sculptural installations that double as functional elements. The space showcases upcoming urban residences through a sophisticated combination of design elements, including graphical-projection scale models presented as modern lithographs, black-line floor plans printed on canvas as limited edition artworks, and oversized black-and-white neighborhood photographs that create a compelling visual narrative. The transformation successfully bridges the site's industrial heritage with its contemporary function, employing a minimalist white palette that creates an immersive environment where the mundane transcends into the extraordinary, reflecting the artistic character of its location in Toronto's premier arts corridor.
