CUBE | OLED Luminaire

CUBE | OLED Luminaire

CUBE | OLED Luminaire is an innovative lighting design that exemplifies the fusion of minimalist aesthetics with advanced organic light-emitting diode technology. This sophisticated luminaire consists of twelve transparent OLED panels meticulously arranged in an orthogonal coordinate system, laminated between eight optical crystal glass cubes to create a pure, monolithic form. The design's technical ingenuity lies in its transparent circuit paths, which are applied to the inner glass surfaces, enabling power distribution while maintaining visual clarity. When activated, this architectural lighting solution transforms from a transparent cubic structure into an omnidirectional light source, demonstrating remarkable versatility in both its active and inactive states. The design, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Lighting Products and Fixtures Design category, represents a significant advancement in lighting technology through its innovative use of transparent OLED technology. Its construction involves a sophisticated lamination process where OLED panels are connected with power circuits and cast in place using transparent resin between optical volumes, repeated across all three spatial dimensions. The luminaire's ability to transition between transparency and illumination, combined with its minimalist form, creates an intellectual dimension to the user experience, challenging traditional perspectives on lighting design. This groundbreaking approach to lighting design offers glare-free ambient illumination while maintaining a pure, haptic element that can be utilized as a standalone piece or mounted as a pendant fixture, making it suitable for various architectural and interior design applications.
