Glastron By Zolland Design Sport BoatsGlastron By Zolland Design Sport BoatsGlastron by Zolland design Sport boats is an innovative line of sport boats that masterfully combines retro aesthetics with modern functionality, designed by Bo Zolland and his team from Sweden. The design, which earned a Silver A' Design Award in the Yacht and Marine Vessels Design category, represents a significant evolution in recreational watercraft design by incorporating distinctive heritage elements from classic 1970s and 1980s sport boats while introducing contemporary features and safety improvements. The vessels, ranging from 5 to 7.60 meters in length, feature a unique spear design element and an integrated molded swim platform, departing from traditional exterior-mounted platforms. These sport boats are distinguished by their exceptional interior spaciousness, setting new standards for room optimization in their class. The design philosophy emphasizes a harmonious blend of safety, style, and functionality, incorporating high freeboard for enhanced security during family use. The dashboard and instrumentation were specially designed for the GT, GTS, and GTL lines, featuring modern ergonomic layouts that complement the overall aesthetic direction. The development process, which began with initial sketches in 2011, involved extensive research into historical design DNA and utilized advanced 3D modeling before transitioning to CAD for production. The boats' design draws inspiration from both nautical and automotive design elements of the 1960s and 1970s, creating a distinctive visual identity in the contemporary market segment. The result is a series of vessels that successfully balance practical family use with sporty performance characteristics, while maintaining a strong design language that sets them apart in the recreational boating industry.
