Prelude To Happiness Residential Apartment

Prelude to Happiness Residential Apartment is an innovative residential interior design project completed in 2018 in Taichung, Taiwan, that masterfully combines functionality, spirituality, and contemporary aesthetics within a 135-square-meter living space. The design, created by Su-Hsiang Hung and Hsien-Hui Chen, showcases exceptional storage solutions integrated seamlessly into the overall aesthetic, featuring a distinctive foyer with concealed black enamel cabinetry and a thoughtfully designed shoe storage system. A notable element of the design is the cross-style partition screen, which serves both as a storage solution and a religious display, reflecting the Christian faith of the residents. The public spaces demonstrate sophisticated material interaction and environmental consciousness, with the lounge area featuring a dignified conservative grey sofa complemented by carefully selected blue tones, the homeowner's preferred color, creating an engaging visual dialogue. The design incorporates large French windows that maximize natural light penetration, effectively blurring the boundaries between interior and exterior spaces while enhancing the spatial perception. The dining area showcases practical elegance with a long table and bench configuration, complemented by a white central island incorporating a wine storage solution and an IH sensor stove. The project, which earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category in 2020, exemplifies excellence in spatial planning, material selection, and attention to personal details that create a harmonious living environment.
