Living Aesthetics Residential Apartment

Living Aesthetics Residential Apartment

Living Aesthetics Residential Apartment is an innovative residential design project that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of industrial style aesthetics with functional living spaces, completed in 2017 in Hsinchu, Taiwan. This 50-square-meter apartment, designed by Yi-Yun Chang, represents a sophisticated interpretation of contemporary urban living where functionality seamlessly meets aesthetic appeal. The design philosophy centers on transforming spatial constraints into opportunities, particularly evident in the creative solution for storage limitations in the two-bedroom layout. By removing the partition wall, the designer created an open closet area that contributes to a streamlined and fashionable atmosphere. The project's distinctive features include carefully curated industrial materials such as iron pieces, aluminum elements, and stainless-steel components, which collectively create an ambiance of sophistication with subtle wildness. The design incorporates innovative solutions such as hanging storage cabinets in the disproportionally long foyer, featuring iron nets and imported tile patchwork that complement the wall lamp design. In the public area, the conventional sofa and coffee table arrangement was replaced with a multifunctional high bar counter that serves both as a dining table and workspace, maximizing the utility of the limited space. The project, which won the Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, demonstrates exceptional creativity in space optimization and material selection. The lighting disposition and construction material textures effectively highlight the industrial essence while creating a welcoming residential environment that transforms daily routines into meaningful living experiences.
