Purity CabinPurity CabinPurity Cabin is an award-winning architectural and interior design project that exemplifies the harmonious integration of modern aesthetics with natural surroundings. Located in Hsinchu, Taiwan, this 129-square-meter residential space, designed by Steve Lyu, masterfully combines contrasting elements through innovative material applications and thoughtful spatial planning. The design features two distinct buildings, with the front structure incorporating an underground parking facility and offering panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. The project's distinctive characteristics include the sophisticated use of fair-faced concrete walls, tatami flooring, wooden stair treads, and red brick walls, creating a poetic Zen atmosphere that reflects both contemporary design principles and traditional Asian influences. The interior spaces are meticulously crafted to showcase the interplay between contrasting elements - lines and curves, right angles and arcs, simplicity and complexity - while maintaining a cohesive aesthetic throughout. The property's design emphasizes the connection between indoor and outdoor spaces, with carefully planned layouts that frame the mountain ridges and thriving vegetation as natural extensions of the living space. The back building features integrated greenery, contributing to the project's sustainable approach and biophilic design elements. This exceptional work was recognized with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its innovative approach to residential design and its successful integration of diverse materials and textures.
