Duo: Cleaning Robot

Duo: Cleaning Robot is an innovative dual-function home cleaning solution that seamlessly integrates air purification and floor sweeping capabilities into a single cohesive system. Designed by Qizhe Yao, this sophisticated appliance represents a significant advancement in domestic cleaning technology, drawing inspiration from the nurturing relationship between Emperor Penguins and their offspring to create a synchronized cleaning duo. The system consists of two primary components: a mobile air purification unit and a low-profile floor sweeping robot, working in tandem to deliver comprehensive home cleaning. With dimensions of 300mm in width, 300mm in depth, and a total height of 330mm (with the floor sweeper component measuring just 65mm in height), the design prioritizes space efficiency while maximizing functionality. The floor sweeping unit's compact profile enables it to navigate beneath furniture and access traditionally challenging areas, while the accompanying air purifier extends the scope of air cleaning by moving throughout the living space. The system features an intuitive user interface with physical control buttons and a status display screen, allowing for straightforward operation and monitoring. This innovative approach to household cleaning, which earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Home Appliances Design category, addresses common pain points in traditional cleaning solutions, particularly for multi-room dwellings and compact living spaces. The design demonstrates exceptional consideration for modern urban living requirements, combining technological innovation with practical functionality to enhance the domestic cleaning experience.
