Happy Home Residence

Happy Home Residence is an award-winning architectural renovation project that exemplifies innovative spatial reconstruction and thoughtful interior design. Located in Chongqing, China, this residential transformation masterfully converts a challenging special-shaped structure with initially chaotic spatial layout into an expansive, harmonious living environment spanning three floors and 288 square meters. The project, designed by Hong Wu, demonstrates exceptional expertise in spatial planning by doubling the effective living area while seamlessly integrating indoor spaces with the surrounding natural environment. The design's innovative approach includes the strategic relocation of the kitchen to the negative first floor, the implementation of cast-in-place floor slabs, and the addition of patios to enhance natural lighting and airflow. Notable architectural elements include a sunshine teahouse in the first-floor courtyard and a newly constructed terrace on the second floor, both of which maximize the connection between interior and exterior spaces.
