Sunshine Villa ResidenceSunshine Villa ResidenceSunshine Villa Residence is an award-winning architectural transformation project completed in 2018, showcasing innovative interior spatial planning and seamless integration with nature. Located in the Country Garden Community of Enshi City, Hubei Province, China, this 300-square-meter villa demonstrates exceptional design solutions for street-facing architecture through strategic spatial reorganization. The project, designed by Yanlai Xiao, addresses the challenges of urban living by relocating the interior staircase to the street frontage and repositioning primary living spaces to face an interior garden, effectively minimizing external environmental impacts while maximizing natural light and privacy. The three-story residence features a sophisticated integration of indoor and outdoor spaces, incorporating a 261-square-meter garden that functions as an extension of the living area. The design employs large floor-to-ceiling glass doors and soundproof glass walls along the staircase, significantly enhancing natural illumination throughout the structure. This thoughtful renovation creates multiple connection points between the living room and garden, establishing recreational zones that blur the boundaries between interior and exterior spaces. The project's success in transforming a challenging street-facing property into a harmonious living environment that prioritizes natural light, privacy, and connection to nature earned it the Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, recognizing its innovative approach to residential design and spatial planning.
