E Drum Kinetic Electronic Drums Show

E Drum Kinetic Electronic Drums Show

E Drum Kinetic Electronic Drums Show is an innovative performance installation that revolutionizes the traditional drum performance experience through a sophisticated integration of music, light, and kinetic movement. This groundbreaking design, created by industrial designer Idan Herbet, features a dynamic spherical stage structure inspired by a gyrosphere, comprising three concentric rings that can move independently to create an ever-changing performance environment. The installation's primary structure consists of a 115-centimeter radius base stage elevated to 60 centimeters, complemented by three mechanically operated rings of varying dimensions (150cm, 70cm, and 115cm radius respectively). The system incorporates 19 drums, each surrounded by RGB pixel-controlled Neon Flex tubing, creating a seamless fusion between percussion and illumination. The sophisticated technical infrastructure includes an array of professional lighting fixtures, including beam lights, LED blinders, and special effects equipment, all synchronized through a complex integration of Ableton Live for music and MIDI triggers, coupled with advanced lighting control systems. This Gold A' Design Award-winning creation in the Lighting Products and Fixtures Design category represents a significant advancement in performance art technology, breaking traditional barriers between sound, light, and spatial design. The installation's innovative approach allows drummers to explore new creative possibilities, with drums positioned in unconventional locations, including behind the performer, while maintaining complete modularity for transportation and assembly. The system's MIDI-based interactive platform enables real-time translation of musical notes into synchronized lighting effects, creating an immersive and dynamic performance environment that continues to evolve with each new production.
