Love And Other Fitness CenterLove And Other Fitness CenterLove and Other Fitness Center is an innovative interior design project that reimagines the conventional fitness facility paradigm through a sophisticated fusion of athletic functionality and contemporary aesthetics. Completed in April 2018 in Tianjin, this 300-square-meter facility distinguishes itself from traditional fitness centers by integrating Pilates-focused training spaces with thoughtfully designed leisure areas. The design philosophy, conceived by Yong Zhang and Xin Ma, draws inspiration from the transformative power of self-improvement, metaphorically referencing the narrative of Love and Other Drugs to emphasize the facility's role in enhancing users' quality of life through physical activity. The space employs a minimalist material palette, featuring stainless steel as the primary architectural element, complemented by exposed white ceilings and panDOMO flooring, creating an environment that balances primitive and natural elements with modern sports aesthetics. The two-story facility encompasses specialized zones including a public training area, leisure space, vegetarian beverage section, and private instruction areas, with super-large mirrors strategically placed throughout to amplify spatial perception and create an enhanced sense of openness. The project's innovative approach to spatial organization combines reception and consultation functions with refreshment areas, optimizing operational efficiency and user flow. This exceptional design earned recognition with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its contribution to advancing the field of fitness facility design through its thoughtful integration of functionality, aesthetics, and user experience.
