Panntea Klang Retail ShopPanntea Klang Retail ShopPanntea Klang Retail Shop is an innovative retail space and beverage outlet that exemplifies avant-garde interior design through its revolutionary conceptualization of space and time. Located in Klang, Malaysia, this 1,800-square-foot establishment, designed by Ken Thong and Emma Yap, represents a groundbreaking approach to commercial interior design that seamlessly merges industrial aesthetics with refined elegance. The design, which won the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, features a distinctive layout created by connecting two adjacent shop units through a carefully crafted time tunnel walkway. The space is characterized by its dramatic interplay of light and shadow, incorporating arch-framed window panels that contrast with a cool, dark interior scheme to create an enigmatic atmosphere. The design's sophisticated material palette combines industrial elements such as steel, brick, and cement with luxurious touches of marble, leather, and fabric, creating a compelling juxtaposition of raw and refined textures. Notable design features include the Galaxy Annulus with LED lighting, floating counters, and various optical illusions that contribute to an otherworldly customer experience. The storefront draws inspiration from 1920s French glamour, featuring full-length glass panels that lead to a concrete-clad counter area adorned with abstract golden boxes. The interior layout strategically incorporates multiple seating zones, including a bar-height counter area, a long table section with suspended decorative elements, and a cozy sofa area, all unified by innovative design elements such as upside-down furniture installations and a metal-framed galaxy time clock.
