Aoxin Holiday HotelAoxin Holiday HotelAoxin Holiday Hotel is an innovative architectural masterpiece located in Luzhou, Sichuan Province, China, distinguished by its unique design concept inspired by the region's historic wine caves. The hotel's design, conceptualized by renowned designer Shaun Lee, represents a sophisticated interpretation of local cultural heritage through contemporary architectural language. The most striking feature of this hospitality space is its lobby, which presents a masterful reconstruction of a natural cave system, incorporating a series of unconnected hollow stones that create an immersive spatial experience. The design, which earned the prestigious Platinum A' Design Award in Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, showcases exceptional technical achievement in its complex cave construction, utilizing advanced GRG (Glass Fiber Reinforced Gypsum) modeling and precise splicing techniques. The interior architecture demonstrates remarkable attention to detail, particularly evident in the innovative mosaic wall treatments that required specialized deformation seam engineering to accommodate area shrinkage. Completed in August 2019, the hotel's design philosophy centers on creating a continuous experiential journey through alternating spaces of enclosure and openness, enhanced by carefully orchestrated lighting that produces an atmosphere of mystery and tranquility. The project's cultural significance is deeply rooted in Luzhou's millennia-old winemaking tradition, with the design paying homage to the city's historic wine caves that have served as natural aging cellars since the Qin and Han Dynasties. This architectural narrative successfully translates the functional aspects of traditional wine caves - their constant temperature, humidity, and natural closure - into a contemporary hospitality environment that offers guests a unique sensory experience while maintaining strong connections to local heritage.
