Islamic VillaIslamic VillaIslamic Villa is an architectural masterpiece that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of traditional Islamic design principles with contemporary residential functionality, specifically designed for the cultural and climatic context of Al Madinah al Munawara, Saudi Arabia. This sophisticated residential structure, spanning 360 square meters within a 650-square-meter site, demonstrates a profound understanding of Islamic architectural heritage while addressing modern living requirements. The design, which earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Architecture, Building and Structure Design category, incorporates distinctive features such as gender-separated entrances and circulation paths, reflecting deep cultural sensitivity and traditional values. The villa's architectural composition employs climate-responsive elements including narrow windows, GRC arches, and wooden Mashrabiya screens, which not only serve as aesthetic elements but also provide practical solutions for heat reduction and privacy. Distributed across three floors, the villa's spatial organization caters to both social and familial needs, with dedicated areas for men's and women's councils on the ground floor, family living spaces on the first floor, and additional private quarters on the top floor. The project's material palette, featuring thermal wood, stone, GRC, and double-glazing walls, was carefully selected to withstand the region's high temperatures while maintaining thermal efficiency. The facade design achieves a delicate balance between traditional Islamic architectural elements and contemporary aesthetics, creating visual harmony through carefully proportioned elements that pay homage to the architectural heritage of the holy city, particularly drawing inspiration from the historic Masjid al-Nabawi.
