Zero Pet ClubZero Pet ClubZero Pet Club is an innovative interior design project that reimagines the conventional pet shop concept through sophisticated architectural elements and thoughtful spatial planning. Located in the Xuanwu District of Nanjing, this 487-square-meter establishment represents a paradigm shift in pet care facilities, combining retail services with social spaces in a minimalist aesthetic framework. The design, conceived by Yijie Chen and team in 2018, employs a distinctive white-dominated color palette complemented by natural wood elements, creating an atmosphere more reminiscent of a contemporary bookstore or café than a traditional pet shop. The facility's architectural composition features an open façade that serves as a welcoming gesture to passersby, while the interior space is meticulously divided into functional zones using logs and glass partitions. The comprehensive layout includes individually numbered rest areas, mobile seating arrangements for pet-owner interaction, and a specially designed cat adventure park with air ladders and climbing structures. The material palette, consisting of PanDomo, terrazzo, stainless steel plate, and wood finishes, reflects a commitment to both aesthetics and functionality. This project, which earned a Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design, transcends the conventional pet shop model by incorporating additional services such as pet travel arrangements, insurance, and portraiture, establishing itself as a sophisticated social hub that strengthens the bond between humans and their animal companions. The design's success lies in its ability to balance commercial functionality with aesthetic refinement, creating an environment that promotes both pet welfare and social interaction within an urban context dominated by high-rise architecture.
