Heytea Xi'an StoreHeytea Xi'an StoreHeytea Xi'an Store is an innovative retail interior design project completed in 2019, exemplifying contemporary architectural and spatial design principles through its sophisticated integration of materials and thoughtful space utilization. Located in Xi'an, this 320-square-meter commercial space showcases a harmonious blend of rigid and soft materials, featuring distinctive elements such as rammed earth construction, atomized glass facades, and matte stainless steel surfaces that create an atmosphere of refined modernity. The design, conceived by Uno Chan, addresses the challenges of a long, narrow space by incorporating special block devices around columns to establish visual rhythm and interest throughout the interior. The space's architectural composition demonstrates particular ingenuity in its ceiling treatment, where fog-surfaced stainless steel reflections create a dramatic, installation-like quality enhanced by strategic lighting placement in structural gaps. The interior's functional zones are clearly delineated while maintaining fluid transitions, with the bar area and open seating arrangements designed to accommodate diverse consumer preferences. The project, which earned a Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, is distinguished by its innovative approach to commercial space design, particularly in its response to site-specific challenges such as the integration of a compressed space beneath the mall's exterior staircase. The design's material palette, including rammed earth that evokes temporal depth contrasted with modern elements, creates a sophisticated dialogue between traditional and contemporary aesthetics, while the strategic use of wheat ear and reed elements in the exterior landscape design strengthens the indoor-outdoor connection and enhances the overall customer experience.
