The Praise Assembly Church And Community Hub

The Praise Assembly Church and Community Hub is an innovative architectural and interior design project that reimagines the traditional concept of religious spaces by seamlessly integrating worship facilities with community-focused amenities. Located in Kowloon, Hong Kong, this 1,400-square-meter facility occupies half a floor of an office tower and represents a progressive approach to religious architecture that emphasizes both spiritual and social connectivity. The design is distinguished by its thoughtful division into three primary zones - Worship, Community, and Youth - each carefully crafted to serve distinct yet complementary functions. The space features sophisticated biblical and Christian motifs subtly woven throughout its design elements, creating an engaging environment that encourages exploration and spiritual discovery. A notable architectural feature is the parametrically designed wall shelf, constructed from birch plywood using advanced CNC cutting techniques, which creates a sculptural tree canopy effect while incorporating functional seating and bar tables. The project's linear layout strategically distributes formal spaces such as the worship hall, activity hall, and meeting rooms, while informal corridors and foyer areas serve as dynamic social catalysts. The design, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, exemplifies excellence in spatial planning and community-centered design, successfully addressing the dual objectives of creating a sacred space for worship while fostering community engagement through thoughtfully designed study areas, pantries, therapy rooms, and multipurpose activity spaces.
