Glimpse Side Table

Glimpse Side Table is an innovative furniture design that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of organic form and minimalist aesthetics, created by Turkish designer Kenan Derya Sargin. This sophisticated piece, inspired by cross-section plated products, represents a thoughtful exploration of form through segmented visualization, earning recognition with a Silver A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category. The table's distinctive design features a fluid, sculptural wooden base complemented by a reversible tempered glass top, incorporating a concave slope that facilitates easy access from a seated position. Measuring 533x662x575 mm, the table demonstrates exceptional structural engineering by minimizing component parts while maintaining stability through its fluid form. The production process employs advanced manufacturing techniques, utilizing CNC routing for the wooden elements, while silicone dots are strategically placed to secure the tempered glass top. The design's versatility is enhanced by its ability to be positioned on either side of seating arrangements through a simple glass-flipping mechanism. Developed between October and December 2019 in Ankara, Turkey, the project emerged from comprehensive market research and user interviews, ensuring both aesthetic appeal and practical functionality. The table's creation process involved extensive consultation with manufacturers to optimize production efficiency, resulting in a design that appears complex yet remains straightforward to manufacture. This piece represents a significant achievement in contemporary furniture design, offering a perfect balance between artistic expression and functional practicality, while adhering to principles of minimalist design philosophy.
