Yuexiang Lake Exhibition CenterYuexiang Lake Exhibition CenterYuexiang Lake Exhibition Center is an exemplary architectural masterpiece located in the Yuhong District of Shenyang, China, that harmoniously blends traditional Chinese architectural elements with modern design sensibilities. This prestigious exhibition center, recognized with a Golden A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design category, features a sophisticated arrangement of four distinct courtyards organized along a north-south axis, creating a dynamic spatial experience that pays homage to classical Chinese garden design. The architectural concept draws inspiration from the historic Qianlong Garden and Ten Sceneries of Wangchuan, incorporating elements such as a 9-meter-high entrance gate with a striking 32-meter cantilever canopy that evokes the silhouette of mountain ranges. The center's design employs premium materials including Portuguese Beige stone for the entrance gate and gray granite for the first reception courtyard, symbolizing prosperity through careful material selection. A notable feature is the sunken courtyard, which creates varied landscape experiences within a limited area, with its height carefully controlled at 6.6 meters to achieve optimal spatial enclosure. The project, completed in 2019, demonstrates exceptional attention to cultural sensitivity through its incorporation of traditional elements such as odd-numbered steps and arc-shaped ground formations, while maintaining a contemporary aesthetic that responds to modern lifestyle requirements. The design successfully addresses the challenge of creating a distinctive architectural identity in Shenyang's urban landscape while preserving and reinterpreting the cultural heritage of Mukden.
