Wine Africa Limited EditionWine Africa Limited EditionWine Africa Limited Edition is an innovative packaging design series for wine that exemplifies the fusion of African wildlife aesthetics with contemporary beverage packaging, created by designer Oksana Kashkovskaya. This sophisticated design collection, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Packaging Design category, features four distinct wine varieties distinguished by their colors: red, blue, orange, and yellow. The design's uniqueness lies in its dual-sided aperture system that allows light to penetrate through the packaging, highlighting the vibrant wine colors while creating an engaging visual experience. Each package showcases intricate illustrations of African fauna, with eight different animals paired thoughtfully across the collection: zebra and giraffe, leopard and cheetah, red colobus and colobus monkeys, and Namaqua chameleon and Green Parson chameleon. The bottles themselves feature specialized surface patterns reflecting the distinctive textures of animal hide, implemented through a combination of matte glass surfaces and glossy pattern overlays. The packaging, measuring 330mm in height and 80.5mm in width, is constructed from environmentally conscious cardboard with natural fibers, eschewing additional lacquer treatments. This design approach not only celebrates the diverse landscapes and wildlife of Africa but also demonstrates technical innovation in its execution, particularly in the interaction between different animal motifs and the translation of natural patterns into contemporary graphic elements. The project, developed between November 2019 and February 2020, represents a significant achievement in packaging design, successfully merging cultural storytelling with functional design elements.
