Essence of Humanity Office Space is an award-winning interior design project that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of contemporary and vintage aesthetics within a professional workspace environment. Created by designers Tsung Yen Feng and Jou An Chen, this 82-square-meter office transformation masterfully converts an old storefront into a sophisticated design studio that celebrates both modern functionality and retro artistic elements. The space is distinguished by its geometric building frames, thoughtfully integrated materials including veneer, cultured stone, and steel hardware frames, and the strategic use of massive glass panels that create a seamless connection with outdoor greenery. The design philosophy emphasizes minimalistic geometric aesthetics while preserving the building's original character, featuring a carefully curated color palette of black, gray, and brown tones. Notable design elements include terrazzo-like tile flooring, soft wooden textures, and clean-cut steel hardware in the reception area, while the second floor workspace incorporates black iron cabinet doors, chalkboard paint, and dark laminate flooring. The space's gallery-like atmosphere is enhanced by a gradient art wall created by a muralist, complemented by a display wall for creative works. The design, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design, demonstrates exceptional spatial planning through its incorporation of consulting areas, bar space, and a pantry room on the first floor, while the second floor features an open-plan workspace with large windows and fluted glass that maximize natural light and visual connection with the surrounding landscape.
