No.1 Courtyard ClubNo.1 Courtyard ClubNo.1 Courtyard Club is an award-winning architectural interior design project that exemplifies the harmonious integration of nature with built environments, situated in QingDao City, China. This sophisticated 2000-square-meter complex serves as both a boutique community entrance lobby and an exclusive community club, masterfully designed by Ying Zhang, a Harvard Graduate School of Design alumna, alongside a talented team including Ban, Sheng Liang, and Mingzhi Chen. The design philosophy centers on the organic fusion of architectural elements with natural inspirations, drawing from the fluid movements of wind, the organic growth patterns of plants, and the interplay of natural light. The space features premium materials including wood finishings, marble, brushed stainless steel, and wooden grating, creating an atmosphere of refined elegance. The facility encompasses multiple functional areas, including an underground pool, gymnasium, yoga room, multi-function spaces, and an underground courtyard, all unified by a ceiling height of 5600 millimeters. The design's exceptional merit was recognized with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category in 2020, acknowledging its innovative approach to spatial design and its successful creation of a tranquil, nature-inspired environment. The underground clubhouse section particularly stands out for its mysterious and serene ambiance, featuring arc elements derived from natural forms combined with stone materials, creating a sophisticated transition space that leads to a pool area reminiscent of a peaceful bamboo forest.
