Wuxing Youxing Design Office

Wuxing Youxing Design Office is an exemplary architectural interior design project completed in 2018, representing a sophisticated transformation of an industrial heritage site within Hangzhou's Jingwei International Creative Industry Park. The 680-square-meter space demonstrates exceptional spatial innovation through its partial hollow technique, which integrates three floors into a cohesive yet independently functioning environment. The design philosophy emphasizes the harmonious balance between functionality and artistic expression, featuring a suspended conference room and a sunken book bar that utilize staggered floor structures to create distinct spatial zones while maintaining visual continuity. The project's architectural language is characterized by its restrained modernist approach, employing transparent glass partitions and geometric light installations to enhance spatial perception and natural illumination. A notable feature is the mobile skylight system that channels natural scenery into the interior, creating a dynamic relationship between indoor and outdoor spaces. The design successfully preserves the industrial character of the former textile machinery factory while introducing contemporary elements that support creative work processes. The interior arrangement incorporates an open-plan kitchen restaurant, flexible sliding partition doors, and carefully considered workspace configurations that prioritize employee comfort and operational efficiency. The project, which earned a Gold A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category in 2020, showcases exceptional attention to detail in its material selection, combining hard and soft elements to create a warm, professional atmosphere. The design team, led by Zhixue Wei, demonstrated particular expertise in integrating sustainable features, including the strategic use of landscape plants for air purification and aesthetic enhancement, while maintaining a strong connection to the site's industrial heritage, evidenced by the visible railway tracks beyond the park's boundaries.
