Qiantang RestaurantQiantang RestaurantQiantang Restaurant is an exemplary contemporary dining establishment that masterfully blends traditional Song Dynasty aesthetics with modern design sensibilities, located in Hangzhou, China. Designed by Zhixue Wei in 2018, this 300-square-meter interior space showcases an innovative approach to restaurant design through its sophisticated integration of materials, lighting, and spatial composition. The restaurant's design philosophy centers on creating meaningful interactions between artistic conception and diners, featuring a micro-landscape entrance that symbolically represents the Qiantang River, paying homage to the poetic traditions of Song Dynasty literati. The interior architecture employs a refined material palette including brass, marble, and silk glass, harmoniously combined with strategic lighting solutions that create distinct atmospheric experiences throughout the space. Notable design elements include custom-designed furnishings, from screen partitions to dining implements, all carefully curated to maintain design coherence. The space demonstrates exceptional attention to detail through its sophisticated use of gray tones accented by metallic copper elements, black marble stacked tiles, and brass dome features that define different dining zones. This Silver A' Design Award-winning project in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category exemplifies excellence in commercial interior design through its thoughtful incorporation of historical elements, such as Southern Song Dynasty official kiln aesthetics, traditional hexagonal window patterns, and contemporary interpretations of classical Chinese motifs, while maintaining a strong focus on operational efficiency and consumer experience.
