50 Liters Water is an innovative shower head design that addresses water conservation through real-time consumption visualization, created by designers Junjie Li and Jingru Zhang. This groundbreaking bathroom fixture, which earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Bathroom Furniture and Sanitary Ware Design category, incorporates a transparent storage tank within its refined copper construction, measuring 85mm in width, 38mm in depth, and 240mm in height. The design's distinctive feature is its ability to provide immediate feedback on water usage through a centrally positioned sink mechanism that reflects consumption patterns during shower use. The system operates through a carefully calibrated relationship between water inlet and outlet specifications, requiring no electrical components for its functionality. A blue gradient marking along the storage tank's edge serves as a visual metaphor for resource depletion, with full capacity indicating a consumption of fifty liters. This thoughtful design approach aims to cultivate environmental awareness and promote responsible water usage in daily routines. The project, developed between June 2019 and January 2020 in Guangzhou, represents a significant advancement in sustainable bathroom fixtures, combining practical functionality with environmental consciousness.
