Tai Quan Palace Office SpaceTai Quan Palace Office SpaceTai Quan Palace Office Space is an innovative interior design project that masterfully blends traditional Chinese architectural elements with contemporary office functionality, completed in 2019 in New Taipei City, Taiwan. This remarkable space showcases an extraordinary fusion of cultural heritage and modern workplace design, featuring a dramatic entrance corridor adorned with 26,000 manually applied gold foil pieces that create an atmosphere reminiscent of ancient Chinese palaces. The design, conceived and executed by Shen Fu Chen, demonstrates exceptional attention to traditional craftsmanship through its incorporation of authentic Chinese architectural elements, including custom-made mortise and tenon joints, traditional double doors with distinctive door nails, and meticulously detailed woodwork. The interior space presents a striking contrast between the ornate golden corridor and minimalist office areas, where pure white dominates the color scheme, creating a harmonious balance between opulence and simplicity. The project's innovative approach extends to its functional aspects, featuring a barrier-free ramp design and progressive floor tiling that creates a seamless transition between different spatial zones. The use of full-glass partitions enhances spatial flow while transforming the office environment into a living artwork. This design, which earned recognition at the A' Design Award competition, exemplifies a bold architectural statement that challenges conventional office design paradigms while preserving and celebrating Chinese cultural heritage through its meticulous attention to traditional craftsmanship and materials.
