Occasional Motto Visual Identity

Occasional Motto Visual Identity is a comprehensive brand identity system designed by Zhenqi Ji that exemplifies modern visual communication through its sophisticated integration of typography, illustration, and strategic design elements. The identity system, developed in 2019 in Irvine, California, features a distinctive logotype with a unique ligature between the letters 'a' and 'l', creating a memorable visual anchor that sets it apart in the competitive stationery market. The design philosophy centers on capturing and preserving life's meaningful moments, reflected through a carefully curated collection of visual elements including three key illustrations depicting hands interacting with stationery products. The visual system employs a refined color palette and contemporary typography to establish a warm, professional aesthetic that elevates the brand above mass-market competitors. Notable technical specifications include a 220mm x 110mm envelope design utilizing surface-enhanced white wove paper, demonstrating attention to material quality and practical application. The project, which won an Iron A' Design Award in the Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design category in 2020, successfully addresses the challenge of creating distinctive brand recognition in a saturated market where approximately 85 percent of products are priced under ten dollars.
