Palette Table is an innovative furniture design that reimagines Josef Albers' iconic Homage to the Square series in three-dimensional form, transforming the concept of nested squares into an interactive coffee table that enables users to experiment with color combinations. This sophisticated piece, which earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category, features a modular construction comprising steel sheets that have been precision-crafted through CNC laser-cutting and press-break bending techniques. The table's distinctive design incorporates a sliding mechanism that allows users to interchange top layers between multiple units, creating dynamic color compositions through overlapping acrylic sheets, much like Albers' concept of platters to serve color. Measuring 500 x 500 x 435 millimeters, the table combines a powder-coated top section with a brushed stainless steel base, resulting in a substantial piece weighing 13.6 kilograms. The design's ingenuity lies in its ability to empower users to modify their environment according to their mood, featuring a sophisticated locking mechanism where pins secure the top section to the base for stability during movement.
