This sophisticated mold, designed by Ladan Zadfar and Mohammad Farshad, represents a paradigm shift in beverage aesthetics by intentionally embracing and enhancing the natural crystallization patterns formed by minerals in water during the freezing process. The design, which earned a Silver A' Design Award in the Bakeware, Tableware, Drinkware and Cookware Design category, consists of two primary components: a food-grade flexible silicone mold that creates the distinctive spiral pattern, and a supporting plastic frame that maintains vertical orientation during the freezing process. The innovative spiral configuration serves multiple functional purposes beyond its aesthetic appeal, including accelerated freezing time due to increased surface area, enhanced cooling efficiency when in contact with beverages, and optimized water usage compared to traditional spherical ice molds.
