Phoenix Nest HomestayPhoenix Nest HomestayPhoenix Nest Homestay is an innovative interior design project located in the tourist resort town of Fuxian Lake, conceived as an immersive experiential space that harmoniously combines hospitality with the showcase of handcrafted copper household products. Designed by Xia Song and completed in 2019, this 620-square-meter establishment represents a sophisticated fusion of modern aesthetics and functional design principles. The interior scheme employs a refined palette of black, white, and gray, complemented by natural wood tones and verdant plant elements, creating a neutral backdrop that allows the artisanal copper elements to take center stage. The design features six distinctively crafted guest rooms, each thoughtfully conceived as both functional spaces and artistic expressions, incorporating modern perspectives while maintaining a sense of individual character. A notable architectural element is the innovative pool design, which deviates from conventional blue and white schemes in favor of a sophisticated black and white mosaic gradient that creates the illusion of precious gems beneath the water's surface. The open-plan kitchen and dining area, featuring concrete surfaces adorned with solid wood plates, colored glass vessels, and ceramic containers, serves as a communal hub that encourages social interaction among guests. The space is further enhanced by the strategic use of matte black steel and reddish-brown copper elements against black walls. This award-winning design, recognized with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, demonstrates exceptional attention to detail in its lighting solutions, incorporating white gauze curtains throughout to optimize natural light while maintaining guest privacy. The project, completed between May 2018 and December 2019, stands as a testament to thoughtful interior design that successfully balances aesthetic appeal with practical functionality.
