Nankai LiangJiang Secondary SchoolNankai LiangJiang Secondary SchoolNankai LiangJiang Secondary School is an innovative educational architecture project that revolutionizes traditional campus design through its distinctive circular structure and efficient spatial organization. Located in Chongqing, this architectural masterpiece, completed in 2018, encompasses 109,000 square meters and is centered around the groundbreaking concept of a 10-minute campus, where student circulation between activities is optimized within a 10-minute timeframe. The main building, featuring a 200-meter diameter circular design, integrates classrooms, offices, library, science hall, theatre, and museum spaces within a unified structure, departing from conventional Chinese school layouts. The design employs sophisticated pre-fabricated steel construction techniques, complemented by perforated aluminum panels and a parametric-designed steel lattice roof system that masterfully moderates sunlight and precipitation. The project's ecological integration is exemplified through an internal forest that creates a dynamic topography of mountains and valleys, fostering an ever-changing learning environment where efficiency harmoniously coexists with natural elements. This architectural achievement, recognized with a Golden A' Design Award in the Architecture, Building and Structure Design category, demonstrates exceptional innovation in educational facility design through its seamless integration of spatial efficiency, environmental consciousness, and pedagogical philosophy. The design's significance lies in its ability to create diverse spatial volumes and natural atmospheric environments that enhance the educational experience while maintaining functional efficiency, establishing new benchmarks in sustainable educational architecture.
