Poggibonsi Space DesignPoggibonsi Space DesignPoggibonsi Space Design is an innovative residential interior design project that exemplifies the harmonious integration of Chinese philosophical principles with contemporary spatial design. Located on the southeastern coast of Lantau Island in Hong Kong, this 770-square-foot apartment transformation draws inspiration from the Five Elements Theory, masterfully incorporating wood, fire, metal, earth, and water elements through thoughtfully selected materials and design elements. The project's distinctive approach manifests in its careful material selection, including wooden veneers, colorful marble features, and metal trimming, all orchestrated to create a sophisticated dialogue between natural elements and modern living spaces. The design philosophy emphasizes creating a sanctuary that responds to its serene mountainous and oceanic surroundings, effectively bringing the vitality of nature indoors while maintaining a slow-paced lifestyle aesthetic. Notable features include reconfigured bedrooms divided by sliding glass doors for enhanced flexibility, custom-designed wardrobe handles with fluid curves representing water elements, and strategically placed feature walls showcasing carefully curated marble patterns. The project, completed in 2019, demonstrates exceptional space optimization through innovative storage solutions and thoughtful area delineation, earning recognition with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category for its outstanding achievement in residential interior design. The design's success lies in its ability to balance functionality with aesthetic refinement, creating a unique living environment that seamlessly integrates natural elements while addressing the practical needs of urban living.
