South Branch Sign RestaurantSouth Branch Sign RestaurantSouth Branch Sign Restaurant is an award-winning interior design project that exemplifies contemporary Hong Kong-style dining aesthetics through its sophisticated minimalist approach. Located in Changzhou and completed in 2019, this 500-square-meter establishment represents a significant evolution in restaurant interior design, masterfully blending Eastern subtlety with Western classical elements. The space is characterized by its thoughtful integration of pure geometric forms and understated decorative elements, utilizing a refined color palette of red, white, and black, complemented by warm wooden furnishings that introduce a natural freshness to the environment. The design, conceived by Tiao Ouyang in collaboration with Danfeng Zhou and Yang Li, demonstrates exceptional spatial planning through the innovative use of materials such as terrazzo, wood, cortex, and mirrors to create seamless transitions between different functional areas. The project's distinctive features include scattered chandeliers that effectively soften the angular spaces while creating visual focal points, and smooth lines that extend across the facade and ceiling to create delicate textural details enhanced by strategically placed lighting elements. The design earned recognition with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its successful departure from traditional Hong Kong restaurant aesthetics while maintaining cultural authenticity. The project's sophisticated approach to spatial organization employs invisible partitioning through material and color variations, creating a flowing layout that maximizes the sense of space while maintaining functional distinction between areas.
