Sunshine Home ResidenceSunshine Home ResidenceSunshine Home Residence is an innovative residential interior design project that exemplifies the harmonious integration of traditional Chinese architectural principles with modern spatial solutions. Located within a multi-story building, this 290-square-meter residence spans three floors and represents a remarkable transformation of a challenging space through sophisticated design interventions. The project's most distinctive feature is its innovative implementation of four strategically placed patios, inspired by the ancient Chinese architectural concept of courtyards as the heart of buildings, which serve both functional and aesthetic purposes. Through the application of aerodynamic principles and structural modifications, the design successfully addresses the original building's limitations of poor ventilation and inadequate natural lighting. The renovation process involved a comprehensive three-step approach: structural adjustment, spatial reorganization, and thoughtful design language implementation. The vertical circulation was reimagined through a linear staircase that connects all three levels, creating optimal air circulation patterns throughout the space. The spatial program demonstrates careful consideration of public and private zones, with the second floor dedicated to bedrooms, while the first floor and basement level house communal areas and specialized spaces such as a study, tea room, and fitness area. The design aesthetic employs light tones throughout, creating a bright and minimalist atmosphere, while the basement patios incorporate Japanese design elements that emphasize tranquility and Zen principles. This Bronze A' Design Award-winning project in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category stands as a testament to innovative spatial problem-solving and cultural synthesis in contemporary residential design.
