The Golden Age Recreation SpaceThe Golden Age Recreation SpaceThe Golden Age Recreation Space is an innovative interior design project that redefines contemporary social and entertainment spaces by masterfully blending Eastern and Western architectural philosophies. Located in Shanghai, this 4,500-square-meter facility represents a sophisticated interpretation of modern luxury recreational spaces, drawing inspiration from both 17th-18th century European salons and traditional Chinese literary gatherings. The space, designed by Wei-Hua Hung and Hai-Shin Li, is strategically divided into three distinct zones catering to different age demographics: the Hidden Area, Art Zone, and Trendy Room, each themed around classical Chinese poetry. The Hidden Area, designed for guests over 45, features meandering pathways, oriental tea sets, and copper-engraved ceiling artwork depicting Along the River During the Festival, creating an atmosphere of refined seclusion. The Art Zone, targeting 35-45-year-old professionals, incorporates flexible space configurations through electric doors and architectural elements inspired by Su's poem Written on the Wall at West Forest Temple. The design employs an extensive material palette including marble, jade, granite, volcanic stone, teak, and titanium plating, demonstrating exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail. This award-winning project, recognized with the prestigious Gold A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, exemplifies innovative space utilization and cultural synthesis, establishing new standards for high-end recreational facilities in contemporary urban settings.
