Yu’s Residence Residential SpaceYu’s Residence Residential SpaceYu's Residence Residential Space is an exemplary residential interior design project that masterfully blends contemporary techniques with classical aesthetics, completed in 2019 in Taipei. This 135-square-meter living space demonstrates sophisticated spatial manipulation through innovative design solutions that address the diverse cultural preferences of its inhabitants. The design's core philosophy centers on subtly expressing luxury culture while incorporating mixed cultural elements, reflecting the family's international living experience. The space features distinctive architectural elements, including a strategically disconnected entrance cabinet that creates an extended visual pathway and allows natural light to flow throughout the interior. A notable design feature is the implementation of thin titanium-coated stainless steel strips in concave surfaces, which create subtle light reflections that change throughout the day, adding a dynamic dimension to the space. The project showcases meticulous attention to detail in its material selection and implementation, particularly evident in the corner treatments inspired by Carlo Scarpa's spirit in the corner concept, where small squares resolve the junction of titanium-coated stainless steel through precise leveling techniques. The integration of gray mirrors enhances spatial perception while reflecting exterior scenery, effectively bringing the outside environment into the living space. The ceiling design plays a crucial role in defining spatial boundaries, while the overall layout demonstrates a thoughtful balance between feng shui principles and modern spatial organization. This exceptional residential design was recognized with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its innovative approach to contemporary residential design and its successful integration of mixed cultural elements.
