Geometric Residence Residential House

Geometric Residence Residential House

Geometric Residence Residential House is an innovative residential interior design project that exemplifies the sophisticated application of geometric principles in contemporary living spaces. Located in central Taipei, this 99-square-meter mansion showcases a masterful integration of triangular, square, and hexagonal shapes throughout its architectural elements and interior features. Designed by Jia Fang Hsu, the project's core concept revolves around visual extension, prominently featuring a curved glass partition that serves both functional and aesthetic purposes by defining spaces while maintaining visual continuity. The design, which earned a Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, demonstrates exceptional attention to material selection, incorporating oak, rose gold iron, paint, and quartz tiles to create a harmonious living environment. The residence's distinctive features include vertical and parallel joints dominating the wall surfaces, creating a neat geometric simplicity that transforms from two-dimensional patterns into three-dimensional niches, generating dynamic light and shadow effects. The space planning encompasses two bedrooms and two bathrooms, with particular emphasis on innovative carpenter work that realizes complex geometric shapes in cabinetry and storage solutions. The project, completed between August 2018 and May 2019, employs a bright and minimalist color palette complemented by decorative planting and lightweight metal structures, resulting in a cozy yet sophisticated atmosphere. The fundamental design approach involved deconstructing spatial elements into points, lines, and planes, particularly evident in features such as the polygon-based shoe cabinet with concave planes and the opened showcase style derived from two-dimensional graph decomposition.
