Yancheng Nanyang Airport HotelYancheng Nanyang Airport HotelYancheng Nanyang Airport Hotel is an exemplary architectural and interior design project completed in 2020, representing a harmonious blend of contemporary design aesthetics with local cultural elements of Yancheng city, China. Located within the terminal of Yancheng airport, this 8,500-square-meter hospitality space serves as both a gateway and farewell point for visitors, embodying the region's natural landscape through its innovative design approach. The architectural narrative draws inspiration from the aerial view of Yancheng's distinctive agricultural fields, meandering rivers, and mountainous terrain, translating these elements into interior design features through carefully curated materials and decorative elements. The design, led by Miaoyi Jiang alongside team members Yuqing Li and Yang An, employs a sophisticated interplay of form repetition and spatial reorganization, creating dynamic contrasts throughout the interior spaces. The project demonstrates exceptional environmental consciousness through its material selection, incorporating sustainable and eco-friendly components including wood veneer, stone, glass, and aluminum plate, all chosen to balance aesthetic appeal with ecological responsibility. From the curved walls of the lobby to the geometric ceiling patterns in the dining area and the thoughtfully designed guest rooms, each space tells a continuing story of Yancheng's cultural heritage. The project, which earned the prestigious Gold A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, showcases remarkable innovation in spatial design while maintaining strict adherence to budget constraints and environmental standards. The design successfully creates an immersive experience that captures the essence of Yancheng's landscape, offering visitors a meaningful connection to the local environment through its thoughtful interpretation of regional characteristics in a contemporary architectural context.
