The design's primary innovation lies in its dual-cap interaction system - in its default state, the outer cap rotates freely without engaging the inner cap, rendering attempts by children to open the bottle ineffective. Adults can access the contents by applying sufficient force to push the outer cap, which then engages with the inner cap through carefully engineered protrusions and depressions, allowing synchronized rotation for opening. The bottle's dimensions of 80mm width, 35mm depth, and 98mm height are optimized for both functionality and portability, while its flat-sided form factor, inspired by traditional hip flasks, provides intuitive tactile cues for the push-pull operation. Manufactured through high-density polyethylene (HDPE) injection molding, the design underwent extensive material testing to achieve the precise balance between child resistance and adult accessibility. The development process, completed in 2020, focused particularly on determining the optimal material thickness and specifications for the outer cap, ensuring it maintains an appropriate level of resistance that prevents access by children while remaining manageable for adults.
