Urban Literature Public ParkUrban Literature Public ParkUrban Literature Public Park is an innovative urban landscape design project that seamlessly integrates public spaces with cultural heritage, creating a harmonious environment that celebrates literature and community interaction. Located in an area spanning 15,287.57 square meters, this thoughtfully designed park, created by designer Ching-I Wu and team, represents a sophisticated approach to breaking spatial boundaries while preserving historical elements. The park's design philosophy centers on creating an immersive literary experience within an urban context, featuring carefully preserved vintage walls from old dormitories that serve as storytelling elements, and a distinctive curved wall at the entrance that evokes the atmosphere of traditional narrow streets and alleyways. The space incorporates multiple interconnected elements, including a bamboo forest, a literacy pathway, and a central square anchored by a century-old tree and a Poetry wall, all of which work together to facilitate community engagement and cultural preservation. The park's design excellence has been recognized with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Landscape Planning and Garden Design category, acknowledging its innovative approach to urban space utilization and cultural integration. The project successfully combines natural elements such as flowing rivers and tree-lined paths with architectural features, creating multisensory experiences that include the sounds of children's laughter, footsteps on gravel, and the natural fragrances of grass and earth. This thoughtful integration of elements creates an educational and entertaining space that serves as both a public amenity and a living document of local literary heritage, effectively transforming the urban landscape into a poetic journey through literature and history.
