Spark Residential Home is an exemplary residential interior design project that showcases contemporary minimalist aesthetics and innovative spatial construction, completed in June 2019 in Changsha, China. This sophisticated 1,448-square-meter residence, designed by Yang Peng, demonstrates exceptional mastery of space utilization and architectural elements, featuring a dramatic twisting staircase that serves as both a functional connector and sculptural centerpiece across its four floors. The design philosophy emphasizes the harmonious integration of natural light and spatial fluidity, achieved through the strategic reduction of partitions and minimal decorative elements, allowing the space to be perceived as a cohesive whole. Notable architectural features include a curved coving that creates a delicate junction between walls and the 3.4-meter-high ceilings, white-painted steel panels forming the signature curved staircase, and an innovative aluminum plate TV backdrop designed to appear like a rolled page corner. The interior showcases a sophisticated material palette combining minimal white walls with dark timber herringbone flooring, while large windows facilitate abundant natural illumination and frame views of the verdant garden.
