Yingtao Road Terrace House ResidenceYingtao Road Terrace House ResidenceYingtao Road Terrace House Residence is an exemplary multi-generational residential project located in Yingge District, Taiwan, completed in November 2019, that masterfully addresses the evolving needs of a family across different life stages. Designed by Ching Ling Ma and Chen Jien Li, this 413-square-meter residence demonstrates exceptional consideration for both functionality and aesthetics, incorporating innovative barrier-free design elements to accommodate aging residents while maintaining sophisticated architectural details. The three-story structure features thoughtfully planned spaces that cater to individual family members' preferences while promoting communal living, exemplified by the second floor's immaculate marble foundation complemented by rose gold accents and custom candlelight fixtures that symbolize family unity. The design's humanistic approach is evident in its careful integration of safety features, including an elevator system, automated safety lighting, and spacious walkways, all while preserving traditional Taiwanese architectural elements. Each floor showcases distinct material palettes and aesthetic treatments: pristine white marble for the parents' living space, sophisticated black architectural concrete for one son's area, and minimalist gray tones for another, demonstrating the designers' ability to harmonize diverse personal styles within a cohesive whole. The project, which earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category in 2020, particularly excels in its innovative use of materials including pink onyx, hexagonal mirrors, and aluminum-framed leather, creating an environment that seamlessly blends functionality with refined luxury. The design's forward-thinking approach considers future adaptability while maintaining present comfort, incorporating elements such as a wood-colored storage and display wall for teapot collections, and creating flexible reception-style public areas that facilitate social gatherings.
