KP.A Exhibition SpaceKP.A Exhibition SpaceKP.A Exhibition Space is an innovative interior design project that reimagines the concept of exhibition spaces through a thoughtful integration of cultural heritage and contemporary design principles. Located in Hefei, China, this approximately 1000-square-meter space transforms the narrative of a former agricultural land into a sophisticated lifestyle showcase venue. The design philosophy draws inspiration from the area's historical identity as fertile farmland in the 1980s, creating a poignant dialogue between past and present through architectural elements. The space employs minimalist aesthetics and extensive use of wood materials, establishing a conceptual connection to its agricultural heritage while serving modern commercial purposes. Through the innovative implementation of cubic volume variables, the design creates distinct functional zones that flow seamlessly into one another, effectively minimizing obvious commercial overtones while maintaining a relaxed spatial atmosphere. The interior design, recognized with a Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, masterfully combines practical functionality with artistic expression through its sophisticated use of light, shadow, and three-dimensional architectural elements. The space features a rigorous exterior design complemented by a soft, delicate internal atmosphere, achieved through layered spatial arrangements and careful material selection. Completed in July 2019, the project exemplifies how contemporary exhibition spaces can balance commercial requirements with artistic sensibility, creating an environment that guides visitors through a multi-dimensional understanding of residential products and lifestyle possibilities. The design's success lies in its ability to maintain a strong connection to the location's agricultural heritage while delivering a modern, functional exhibition space that promotes a thoughtful approach to contemporary living.
