Link To The World ResidenceLink To The World ResidenceLink To The World Residence is an innovative residential interior design project that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of personal connection and global consciousness within a compact living space. Located in New Taipei City and completed in 2019, this 35-square-meter residence transforms the conventional concept of home into an interactive spatial experience that celebrates human connectivity. The design's centerpiece is a distinctive world map feature wall, which replaces the traditional television setup, incorporating a sophisticated laser-cut metal board that depicts global population densities and human interactions through varying sizes of perforations. This artistic interpretation of worldwide connectivity serves both as a functional design element and a personal diary of the owner's global interactions, where acrylic markers can be placed to commemorate visited locations. The residence's spatial organization demonstrates remarkable versatility through the implementation of sliding partitions that allow the space to adapt seamlessly from a private sanctuary to an open gathering area. The interior's material palette thoughtfully balances modern industrial elements with warm textiles and leather finishes, creating an environment that reflects both technological advancement and domestic comfort. The project, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category in 2020, showcases exceptional innovation in its approach to small-space living while maintaining a strong conceptual foundation centered on global interconnectedness and human relationships.
