Seasoning Series Design Seasoning Packaging

Seasoning Series Design Seasoning Packaging is an innovative culinary packaging solution that reimagines traditional condiment containers through intuitive design and user-centric functionality, created by designers Zhang Jian-Must, Jiachun Zhou, and Yiting Liu. This comprehensive packaging system, which earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Packaging Design category, encompasses three distinct elements: a chess-inspired soy sauce bottle, an ergonomic pepper seasoning bag, and a precision-controlled mustard dispenser. The soy sauce container, crafted from kaolin with transparent glaze, features a thoughtfully concave top surface that naturally guides finger placement for optimal pouring control. The pepper seasoning bag, constructed from 135g sulphate paper, incorporates a specialized pinch-handle design that facilitates smooth dispensing while concentrating the contents at the base for efficient distribution. The mustard packaging employs PE film with vacuum-sealed technology, combining decorative printed elements with practical corrosion resistance and precise portion control through its elongated form. The design philosophy centers on enhancing user interaction through intuitive product forms, with each component carefully engineered to amplify natural behavioral patterns and psychological perceptions during use. The project, completed in Guangzhou in December 2019, demonstrates exceptional attention to material selection, ergonomic considerations, and practical functionality while maintaining aesthetic appeal and commercial viability. The design successfully addresses common usage challenges in condiment packaging through innovative form factors that promote stable handling, controlled dispensing, and improved user experience, representing a significant advancement in everyday culinary product design.
