Catzz Cat Bed

This modular cat bed, created by Serbian industrial designer Mirko Vujicic, features a distinctive geometric form inspired by feline facial features and behavioral patterns. The design comprises triangular modules constructed from felt pieces and plastic plates, connected through an ingenious system of snap fasteners that enables easy assembly and reconfiguration without the need for tools. With dimensions of 570mm in width, 580mm in depth, and 610mm in height, the bed incorporates interactive elements such as flexible ears that respond to play, enhancing the engagement between pets and their environment. The product's innovative approach to pet furniture design earned it the Platinum A' Design Award in the Pet Care, Toys, Supplies and Products for Animals Design category, recognizing its exceptional blend of form and function. The bed's modular structure serves multiple purposes: it facilitates customization to match different interior styles, enables easy maintenance through disassembly for cleaning, and allows for flat-pack shipping. The design process, which began in Belgrade in 2019, was informed by comprehensive research involving 250 pet owners, whose feedback prioritized ease of cleaning, personalization options, and contemporary aesthetics. The use of felt material provides a warm and comfortable environment for cats, while the sturdy construction ensures durability and stability.
