Portugal Vineyards Retail SpacePortugal Vineyards Retail SpacePortugal Vineyards Retail Space is an innovative retail environment that revolutionizes the traditional wine store concept through its distinctive architectural approach and minimalist design philosophy. Located in Portugal, this 90-square-meter interior space represents a departure from conventional dark, wood-dominated wine cellars, instead embracing a striking all-white aesthetic that serves as a pristine canvas for showcasing Portuguese wines. The space is characterized by its unique circular circulation pattern within a square floor plan, featuring curved walls with integrated display shelving that references the terraced vineyards of wine-growing regions. The interior design, which earned a Golden A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category in 2020, eliminates traditional retail barriers by removing counters and creating an immersive 360-degree shopping experience. The space employs RAL 9003 white, specifically chosen for its optimal properties in wine observation and tasting events, while indirect lighting enhances the dramatic contrast between the products and their surroundings. The innovative layout accommodates approximately 600 wine references across three levels of terraced shelving, carved directly into the walls using a sophisticated construction of gypsum board supported by metal framing. This groundbreaking retail concept places staff members alongside customers rather than behind counters, fostering a more intimate and collaborative shopping experience. The space's versatility extends to its function as a venue for supplier presentations and wine tastings, with the interior circle capable of accommodating up to 50 people, demonstrating the designer's successful integration of commercial, educational, and social requirements within a single, cohesive architectural solution.
