Dalian Youth Football Training Base SportDalian Youth Football Training Base SportDalian Youth Football Training Base Sport is an innovative architectural complex designed to serve as a comprehensive football training facility, exemplifying the seamless integration of form and function in modern sports architecture. The project, spanning an impressive 86,500 square meters, represents a significant advancement in sports facility design, featuring distinct spaces for first team, reserve team, youth team, club, and junior team training activities. The architectural composition employs a distinctive horizontal design language that reflects the dynamic nature of football while maintaining visual coherence with the surrounding Sports City district. The facility's sophisticated design incorporates an indoor training hall with a simple yet commanding roof structure that serves as a unifying element for the entire complex. The building's materiality demonstrates thoughtful consideration, utilizing a combination of stone facades on the ground floor, pale stone-like finishes on upper levels, and gray horizontal metal sheets for roofing, creating a harmonious blend of durability and aesthetic appeal. The complex's design, which earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Architecture, Building and Structure Design category, showcases innovative spatial organization with utility buildings strategically positioned along urban roads and training facilities oriented to maximize functionality. The project, completed between December 2018 and December 2019, features distinctive architectural elements including hollowed-out roof designs that pay homage to Dalian's coastal architecture while incorporating modern sustainable design principles. The integration of different functional masses creates a cohesive linear architecture that serves as an organic component of the larger sports complex, while the thoughtful use of materials such as glass and wood-like aluminum panels ensures both vibrancy and comfort for its users.
