Fragrance Lamp Lighting ObjectFragrance Lamp Lighting ObjectFragrance Lamp Lighting Object is an innovative sustainable lighting design that harmoniously combines aromatherapy with functional illumination, representing a significant advancement in eco-conscious product design. Created in 2019, this pioneering lighting solution incorporates natural lavender flowers into its structural composition, utilizing a groundbreaking material composition of approximately 85-90% lavender seeds combined with 10-15% recycled wood pulp paste. The design, which earned recognition at the A' Design Award competition in the Sustainable Products, Projects and Green Design category, exemplifies the integration of sensory design principles with environmental responsibility. Standing at 400mm in height and 360mm in width, the lamp is available in three different radius sizes, each featuring distinctively curved base cuts. The innovative material development process focused on creating a durable, biodegradable compound that maintains the natural therapeutic properties of lavender, even in its preserved state. The lamp's functionality extends beyond mere illumination, as it actively releases the calming essence of lavender, which can be intensified through the application of lavender water or the use of warm LED lighting. This dual-purpose design approach addresses both practical lighting needs and wellness considerations, offering users an immersive sensory experience through both touch and smell. The development process, spanning four months of experimentation and refinement, resulted in a product that demonstrates the potential for sustainable materials in contemporary lighting design, while maintaining structural integrity and aesthetic appeal.
