Completed in 2019 in Taichung City, Taiwan, this 173.5-square-meter dwelling represents a significant achievement in modern residential design, earning recognition with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category. The design, conceived by Yu Cheng Wang, employs a reductionist approach to achieve an optimal balance between functionality and aesthetics, featuring virtual volume segmentation in the foyer to maximize natural light penetration while maintaining privacy. The public spaces showcase a thoughtful progression from grey to black tones, effectively delineating work and rest areas, while the second floor's longitudinal space capitalizes on elevated ceiling heights through strategic light groove placement and continuous linear light belts that enhance spatial dimensionality. The interior design demonstrates exceptional material articulation, incorporating natural cloud marble in the predominantly white lounge area, contrasted with black elements in the dining space, complemented by titanium-plated metallic fixtures. The private spaces exhibit particular sensitivity to individual character, with the male owner's room featuring architectural concrete textures and titanium-plated hairline finishes, while the female owner's and secondary bedrooms employ softer Morandi grey tones, enhanced by delicate materials such as chiffon and silk, with coral red textile accents creating layered visual interest.
